London Towne Elementary School
CPC

London Towne Elementary School is a 1,000 student Kindergarten – 6th grade school near CPC.  As a Title I school, many of these students have special needs – educational, emotional and financial.  CPC is reaching out to these students in several specific ways.

Weekend Food Project
CPC is committed to providing 90 bags of food each week to ensure that all LTES students have access to healthy food over the weekend.

Volunteers are needed to:

  • Pack bags (Wednesday mornings from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, a group of folks are needed to help pack the bags).
  • Deliver bags to LTES between Wednesday afternoon and Friday morning.
  • Distribute the food bags to the classrooms on Friday mornings (9 am to10:00 am).

Breakfast Tutor Club

CPC members go to LTES each Tuesday morning (8:00 am to 8:45 am) during the school year. Volunteers work with 2nd grade students to learn and reinforce math skills. In addition to academics, volunteers become a caring voice in their lives and a model of Christ in our community.

“I feel like I have a special friend in my little mentee. She is a gift to me!” says Cindy Roberts of her mentoring experience.

English Class for Parents

We began offering English Classes for the parents of LTES students in 2019. The program includes three levels of English instruction as well as a Homework Room for children. Classes meet on Wednesday evenings (7 pm to 8:00 pm) at LTES. If you would like information about the children’s homework room or serving as an instructor or assistant, let’s talk!
